Who We Are
Empharma Pharmaceuticals has continued the century-old Embil legacy it has inherited within the healthcare sector from 1918 to the present day. Founded by the next-generation representatives of one of the oldest pharmaceutical companies in the Republic of Türkiye, Empharma Pharmaceuticals brings together the unique experience and innovative spirit of its management, whose expertise in pharmaceuticals has been demonstrated through numerous achievements.
The fundamental purpose of Empharma’s establishment is to bring together experience and new ideas, and, building on its industry knowledge and achievements, to confidently carry forward niche, original, and innovative prescription and non-prescription pharmaceutical preparations and medical device products that will bring a new perspective to Türkiye and Europe across different markets and indications.
Our History
Founded in 1918 in Bandırma by Pharmacist Hikmet Embil under the name “Embil Laboratory.”
At the time, in addition to pharmaceutical preparations such as tablets, ointments, and sterile solutions, it supplied raw materials and finished products used in the pharmaceutical and food industries to the service of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Embil Pharmaceuticals;
- Made its mark on the market for many years with topical products belonging to the Neo-Penotran family, which pioneered women’s health,
- Made its mark with Sulidin® Gel, the first and only alcohol-free topical product containing Nimesulide for pain management in Türkiye, featuring a Lamellar Penetration System (LPS) that enables rapid absorption through the skin and a short onset of action, and holding an Examined Patent granted by the Turkish Patent Institute,
- Made its mark on the market for many years with products from the Aksil, Salsil, and Biovital groups, developed using a Microsponge system for acne treatment and offering a high improvement profile with minimal side effects.
Embil Pharmaceuticals’ products have established a presence in the markets of 42 countries outside Türkiye, including Russia, the CIS countries, the Balkans, the Far East, and Latin America, and have been trusted by users to this day.
In 2014, Embil Pharmaceuticals decided to transfer this growing momentum to Exeltis Pharmaceuticals, part of the Spanish Chemo Holding, and subsequently, with the aim of continuing the same mission, a new organization, Empharma Pharmaceuticals, was established in 2018.
Our Mission
As Empharma Pharmaceuticals, our primary objective is to contribute to Türkiye’s pharmaceutical industry through the century-long expertise we have gained in the healthcare sector.
At the same time, another fundamental objective is to maintain our international recognition through more than 20 years of collaboration with Russia, the Balkans, Latin America, the CIS, and Far Eastern countries, and to contribute to the healthcare sectors of these countries with products that enhance quality of life.
